St. Aloysius

Intuitional spaces being non personal, public spaces, are hard to define and even harder to design, adding to that, the space and budget constraint. It takes a lot of time, interaction with end users and effort to make a space that serves a constantly changing function. The stepped audio visual room is a simple series design, where the back rest of one row becomes the table top of the next. In the conference rooms, the fish shaped and horse shoe shaped tables prevent any overlap of visibility. The design of the rooms picks up features from the main building. As in the St. Aloysius conference room, the doors are arched as in the rest of the building with a keystone created to finish the look and feel. The shelf looks like another door to the room, while the pantry door is camouflaged into the wall paneling. The wooden paneling improves the acoustics of the room.
